Holy shit--go see Jesu if they are coming to your town.

Even if you don't like Metal; even if you never liked Godflesh; even if you don't like music; even if you don't have ears--go see Jesu! Best show all year--and granted I haven't been to many shows this year, but I don't see how anyone would top this. Go see Jesu.

Unless they are playing on 10/18 and you are within driving distance of the Laptop Battle--in which case you are morally obligated to come support Dr. Rheinhardt. But otherwise, motherfuck, go see Jesu.

Little known fact: the name Larvae came to me as a spin on the Godflesh song "Mothra"--it's true!

they played with Isis in SLC awhile back... had to cut the set short, i was bummed. i think it translates live much better than on CD (though i do enjoy the CD i own).

i had tickets to the Jesu/Isis show in birmingham but Jesu didn't have their vias to get into the USA yet so no Jesu meant no trip to the ham for me and Chris. i like Isis but they aren't a band i'll drive 2 hours to see.

Justin Broadrick has had a lot of Visa problems in his career...I remember Godflesh was supposed to open for Skinny Puppy back in '91 or so, but Visa issues kept them out of the States then, too.

I did manage to see Godflesh open for Napalm Death at some earlier date...brutal.

i remember godflesh missing the SP tour and was pissed about that at the time. i got to see godflesh in about 96 on the Love and Hate tour and it was extraordinarily loud. i also saw techno animal in about 2000 or so and that was fun but jesu is definitely my favorite of the related projects.

I missed the last one as well.
The show at the Downunder was amazing...and sadly only viewed by about 30-40 people. Got to chat with Broadrick briefly afterwords, really nice chap. I just posted a video on YouTube from that show. :) I'd give you the link but state has blocked YouTube from our network. (Search for Jesu and Tallahassee if you're interested.) Interesting side note on the name choice.

yeah i'm sick as a dog, got the Echo-Cold going on (fucking dust bowl)... i ended up sleeping at 8pm last night... slept for 12 hours
